Title: Mail Relay

I suppose that would certainly do it.  The SMTP connector, IIRC, overrides the settings on the Default SMTP Virtual Server.

Exchange 2000 is supposed to be relay-secure out of the box.  So unless you changed something in the SMTP virtual server properties, then you shouldn't be relaying.
