Whenever an e-mail is sent marked Private to any mailbox, they message is only visible if you have that mailbox open as the primary mailbox in the profile. Anyone viewing that mailbox as a secondary mailbox (as in the case with most shared/generic mailboxes) can see that there's an unread message indicated, but the actual e-mail doesn't show up in the list. Solution is to create a separate profile for the generic mailbox.
(I can't remember if this is also the caes if a message is marked 'confidential') Rob Sargent -----Original Message----- From: Freya Jongkind [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, February 12, 2002 6:23 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: HELP : Spookie or gostlike email in outlook Hello, We have a weird problem. We have a Exchange server 5.5 and Outlook 97 and outlook 2000 for our users. Suddenly in some generaly used inboxes such as [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> . It is mentionned that there are n e-mails unread and when you have a look in the inbox you only can see n-1 e-mails in non read mode. So it looks if there is a "gost" e-mail or a hidden e-mail somewhere. >From where can this problem come? Is there somewhere a countersetting corrupt ? or is het possible that some e-mails aren't visible ? And why ? If you select all e-mails and you put them all in non read the difference is gone, but then you aren't sure if you have seen all the incomming e-mails.
