Granted, it really depends on the RPC binding order however, on TCP/IP
networks, DNS is obviously your best bet.
IIRC, Outlook will query a DNS server up to 10 times before moving on to
other methods.

Have you tried putting the exchange IP in your LMHOST (yes ...LMHOST).
Made a real difference for us.
