I was thinking that if we do go with Enterprise, we'd keep the db's on the
SANS where we have about a TB and a half free. One of our servers that blew
the 16 GB limit was a JV and they had a 16 GB database on a 20 GB partition.
We had to plug in a couple more drives before we could even massage any free
space into the database.

bad enough, and there's 100mb left on the drive.. lol..

That was my first thought, too. But management is still in the "give the
users enough rope to hang themselves" frame of mind. As I said, we are
attempting to "retrain" our management.

Based on numerous posts here, we have decided to eliminate the use of PST's
(and light beer) in our company and go with info stores in the mailbox. We
are running Exch 5.5 Standard SP 4 on NT4 SP6a. There are about 2,000 users
in our site. I'm curious how large some of your databases are and any
difficulties associated with handling large Exchange databases. I am trying
to "retrain" our management here to think in terms of limiting mailbox
sizes, establishing a retention policy, etc., etc. But, in case we don't
get there, other than the 16 TB limit, are there any other "gotchas" out
there waiting for me?
