I've actually heard from DSL providers that if you have fiber to copper, you are limited to 128 up and down.  And that would really suck!

I have qwest VDSL to the house.  I'm in a new neighborhood that has fiber to the curb, although they said my neighborhood will be the last like this. Now they're going to go fiber to the neighborhood then copper to the house.
