I'd think once MS realizes they left it out of WSUS it should appear there,
though we may have to wait longer than appropriate for MS to fix their
oversight. Hopefully some MVP is talking to an MS insider as we speak...

You could always drop the update.exe on a server and install it with a
startup script... It has the /Q option just like it should. The only
thing I discovered, I was using Outlook when I ran the update and the .hol
file was replaced but the holidays weren't installed. I had to go through
the Calendar Options / Install Holidays button to install them.

My helpdesk/desktop guy is wanting to know: "To better serve our customers,
is this something that can be installed in exchange calenders at the global
level instead of Helpdesk doing it on a case by case bases?"

The answer is no isn't it? I haven't found anything to indicate that it can
be done at the server level, it's an Outlook thing.....but of course he's
notified our manager and will argue with me on this....

Windows validation only applies to downloading an update from WU servers.
The update itself will install without user interaction just like any other

WTF can't MS remember this stuff?

Hmm, it looks like that download requires user intervention (windows
validation, followed by TOOLS - OPTIONS etc.) Has anybody pushed this
behind the scenes without any user intervention?

Thanks!

We are using Exchange 2007 with Outlook 2003. There don't appear to be any
holidays listed for 2008 with the Outlook 2003 client???

Thanks!
