How are you routing between sites? Over the internet or over the MPLS? If over the MLPS, how is that configured? Anything filtering in between the servers?
When you performed that telnet session, what IP were you connecting to? The internal or external IP? Did that test message you performed earlier end up in the mailbox? A 4.4.7 generally means there is a problem with the recipient's address.
