I have windows Mobile 5 and 6 working with a wildcard cert for use with
ActiveSync. It took a while to get working. In the end, I needed to
added the intermediate cert to the device to trust the cert from the
server. We use DigiCert and works well. Digicert also allow us to create
a wildcard cert with an additional name for the server as well as
*.domain.gov.uk we can also have mail.domain.gov.uk on the same cert.

Cheers
John

commercial cert (for outside OWA for example) consider a wildcard cert
and use it everywhere. Much more cost effective. 200 bucks or so from
GoDaddy.
