I have my phone set for 30 days...but then I try not to keep any email in my
inbox. Unfortunately the BES admin before me told the execs they could keep
all of their email. Yeah, it's a nightmare for me.

Next policy upgrade I'm going to push the idea of 30 days (2 weeks would never
fly). We have different management now...they may back me.

"execs that are in there own mail store and they do have large email stores."

Keep in mind that if they have their Blackberry's configured to keep all email
the device may run low on memory. This is especially critical on the Pearl,
which tends to eat up what little memory it has with the OS. Also, if your
execs are like mine they like to "play", and are always loading software on to
their phones. If the device is low on memory, the device may start deleting
new emails and appointment requests. What looks like an Exchange/BES issue is
actually a device issue.

The fix is to set an IT policy on BES that will only allow users to keep 6
months or 3 months of email on their phone and will keep users from loading
programs...IF your allowed to do that to your execs.

I was wondering the same thing. I am have problems with my 4.1.4 and will be
doing patching tonight. I have latency, and calendar problems. I have checked
cdo and mapi dll files and same version of exchange. Cannot figure it out
seems to be only happening to the exec that are in there own mail store and
they do have large email stores. Hoping this fixes it cause they are missing
appointments.

Any advise would be helpful

Thank you,

David

I saw a post a week or so back but didn't see a lot of response. Am thinking
about upgrading my BES server to the new 5.0 version for Exchange. Anyone do
this and run into trouble so far?

Thanks for any help. Jeff
