It' weird how things work. I'm trying the opposite process. Backing up Exchange
Server 2007 with 32 bit DPM and I'm trying to get the 32 bit eseutil.exe and
ese.dll files to do the same thing.

Since you are running DPM on Svr 2008, you must use the Exchange 2007
management tools.

Have you tried using the x64 Exchange 2007 SP1 versions of eseutil.exe and
ese.dll?

Thanks,

Subject: DMP Server SBS woes

I have been working with PSS on an issue where I was not able to install the
DPM agent onto my SBS server. As per their recommendations/best practices I
installed a 64 Bit version of DPM onto a 64bit W2k8 server.

When I try to configure the protection group to backup exchange it throws and
error indicating that to run the Esutil consistency check on the DMP server I
need to have 64bit verisons of Ese.dll and Eseutil.exe. My SBS 2003 server is
32 bit and their are obviously no 64bit versions of these to files. I would
also assume that with all the patches/service pack that the versions are newer
than what would be found on a 64bit base configuration.

I am getting somewhat of the runaround regarding how to get the correct files
so I can run the Esutil consitancy check. Any one else using DPM server to
backup exchange and had to deal with this or how I might get the correct 64bit
files to install on the DPM Server

Thanks in advance
