In case an external contact wants to have the appearance of having a presence at one address just to receive email at another address, without creating a full-on email box for them that we have to manage and store.
Funny thing I'm following the exact procedure on pp.170-171 of Exchange 2007 Administrators Pocket Consultant which is exactly what I want to do. I'm stumped. Fill out details (by the way, the username will be different for each address, lets say un...@psnet.com should go to usern...@bellsouth.net) Now in Mail Flow settings, Delivery Options, Check Forward, select the contact that was made earlier. This works great if I send email to this box from within the Exchange organization, but any external user sending mail in gets a 550 User Unknown. Am I missing something here?
