The one additional thing you may want to check, outside of Greg's excellent advice so far, is whether you've mistakenly put a redirection on the /exchange vdir. The 302 status looks a little fishy.

Free/Busy using Outlook in 2003 does not revolve around IIS, it uses the Schedule+Free/Busy Folder in the Public Folders to handle it. 2. http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Resetting-OWA-Folder-IIS-security-permissions-Exchange-2003.html Check the permissions on the folders using the link above.
