I'd heard of Touchdown, but this isn't my tablet, and TD isn't free, so the choice to upgrade or not will be left to the user.
If it was mine, I'd be looking for something that can sync public folder contacts, calendars, and messages, the same as Outlook. Doesn't appear that Touchdown handles that does anything? I think youll really like that as an Exchange client on your tablet. Sean Rector, MCSE From: Carl Houseman [mailto:c.house...@gmail.com] Sent: Saturday, July 30, 2011 1:19 PM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: SOLVED: EAS problems Exchange 2003 I had thought Integrated Windows Auth was not supposed to be enabled on the Exchange vdir ... but apparently it is needed. The hint was in the event log, ID 3031, where it talked about "The mailbox server [mail.mydomain.com] does not allow "Negotiate" authentication to its [exchange] virtual directory." when I had only Basic enabled. [Now, having gotten this Acer Iconia (Honeycomb) to sync e-mail, I'm not as impressed with the mail client as I was with the rest of it. Because of course I want all of my mail folders and their subfolders in a flat alphabetized list.] Carl p.s. "Unsupported devices" applies to OMA settings in 2003, and OMA was disabled. Enabling OMA and allowing the unsupported devices made no difference and wasn't required as I later determined. From: Michael B. Haven't been able to get a clean report from MS RCA and have exhausted all Google/MS references on where to look next. What's already been done: The Exchange vdir was previously set to FBA and SSL required. Both of those are turned off and all services cycled. The user account was previously a member of domain admins no longer. Different user account that was never a member of anything special has been tried. Entire server rebooted. The OPTIONS command is successful (which I believe verifies the auth credentials), but then: Attempting the FolderSync command on the Exchange ActiveSync session. The test of the FolderSync command failed. Exchange ActiveSync returned an HTTP 500 response In the IIS log, it looks like this: 2011-07-29 18:33:08 W3SVC1 192.168.55.55 POST /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/ Cmd=FolderSync <mailto:Cmd=FolderSync&User=c...@mydomain.com&DeviceId=2071214095&DeviceType =TestActiveSyncConnectivity> &User=c...@mydomain.com&DeviceId=2071214095&DeviceType=TestActiveSyncConnect ivity 443 - 207.46.14.62 Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/12.0+(TestExchangeConnectivity.com) 401 2 2148074254 2011-07-29 18:33:08 W3SVC1 192.168.55.55 PROPFIND /exchange/c...@mydomain.com/NON_IPM_SUBTREE/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/Test ActiveSyncConnectivity/2071214095 - 80 - 192.168.55.55 Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/6.5.7638.1 401 2 5 2011-07-29 18:33:08 W3SVC1 192.168.55.55 POST /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/ Cmd=FolderSync <mailto:Cmd=FolderSync&User=c...@mydomain.com&DeviceId=2071214095&DeviceType =TestActiveSyncConnectivity&Log=V4TNASNC:0A0C0D0FS:0A0C0D0SP:1C1I473S602R0S0 L0H0P> &User=c...@mydomain.com&DeviceId=2071214095&DeviceType=TestActiveSyncConnect ivity&Log=V4TNASNC:0A0C0D0FS:0A0C0D0SP:1C1I473S602R0S0L0H0P 443 c...@mydomain.com 207.46.14.62 Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/12.0+(TestExchangeConnectivity.com) 500 0 0 Any clues?
