By default databases have a threshold of 30GBs for recoverable items (aka
dumpster) so you might want to keep that in mind for your formula.

Also consider any SLAs in regards to restore and similar stuff that might
put some pressure on you and your availability metrics.

What's the connection between the DAG members? What OLA you got there?

HI There,

 

I am in the process of designing a HA exchange 2010 sysem, and going through
the MS sizing tool.

 

It is for approx 1000 users with 500MB Mailboxes, and to leave extra for
growth.

 

How do you decided how many MBX servers and databses you need in your DAG
groups.

 

The systyem will have a full VTL backup solution so the backup less
functionality is not a priority but could be worth having.

 

The main priority is high availability.
