It doesn't seem to care how many you put in or advise, just gives you more storage requried as you add more :) On 29 September 2011 15:14, Missy Koslosky <mi...@notsoclever.com> wrote: > Gotcha.. > > I would use the storage calculator for db distribution. > > Missy > ------------------------------ > From: Graeme Carstairs > Sent: 9/29/2011 9:50 AM > > To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues > Subject: Re: Choosing how many MBX servers and how many databases for DAGS > > We are using multiple UCS Blade servers with one MBX server per blade, > multiple fabric interconnecte, multiple SAN connections and then a full > replica with failover setup in the 2nd data centre. > > The system was designed and speced by someone else, and from there I was > requested to size and design an Exchange system. > > We may be able to split the DAGs between the two sites, but the fail > over config hasn't been provided yet. > > I am just looking to get some advice on how you decide how many DAGS and > the number of databases per DAG . > > But I know what you mean Missy. > > Graeme > > > > > > On 29 September 2011 14:41, Missy Koslosky <mi...@notsoclever.com> wrote: > >> So your concern is availability, yet you are sharing infrastructure >> between all DAG members? >> >> Um... >> ------------------------------ >> From: Graeme Carstairs >> Sent: 9/29/2011 8:59 AM >> >> To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues >> Subject: Re: Choosing how many MBX servers and how many databases for >> DAGS >> >> >> we are looking to build all the DAG members on the same Cisco UCS >> infrastructure, and attached to the same SAN, (There is going to be a 2nd >> replica setup in a 2nd datacentre for complete failure of the 1st >> datacentre) >> >> So the DAG members will be in same UCS infrastructure. >> >> >> Graeme >> >> >> On 29 September 2011 13:45, daemonRoot <daemonr...@sysadmin-cr.com>wrote: >> >>> By default databases have a threshold of 30GBs for recoverable items >>> (aka dumpster) so you might want to keep that in mind for your formula.* >>> *** >>> >>> Also consider any SLAs in regards to restore and similar stuff that might >>> put some pressure on you and your availability metrics.**** >>> >>> What’s the connection between the DAG members?
