John,

I initially thought that was the issue, but it's happening from multiple
Outlook's on multiple PC's, and from OWA as well.

I tried taking one client out of cached but I got the same results.

The only time there is no bounce back is if it's coming from an external
address.

One thing that springs to mind is Outlook's auto-complete feature or, cached
mode perhaps??

Subject: Exchange 2003 forwarding email to old contact

Hey All,

Long time lurker and reader, first time speaking up.

I am really hoping someone can shed some light on an odd mail issue a client
of mine is having.

Windows 2003 R2 with Exchange Ent 2003 fully patched.

They have a user that wanted her mail to go to her personal mail so we set
up a contact and did forwarding from within her AD account.

She recently changed her personal email, so we deleted the old contact,
created a new one and setup forwarding to that new contact.

Tricky thing is, if anyone from inside the network using Outlook or OWA from
the internet tries to email her, the mail goes through but they also get a
bounce back error from the server which attempted delivery to the old email
address which doesn't exist anymore. However if someone sends her an email
from outside the network, email goes through fine with no bounce backs..

I combed through AD looking for the old email address, but I don't see it
anywhere..

I'd really appreciate if anyone can point me in the direction.

Thanks,

Joe Schvarcz
