Julian, did this bank require you to have your passport translated into
Russian and get a Notary?

James,

2008/1/24 wab3 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
call Uniastrum Bank in Moscow, ask for Carolina Gasnash in the Expat
Banking Department, I have been banking with them for about 3 years and
have no problems.

I have a hard currency account and a ruble account with Mastercard debit
card attached to the accounts, I use it in Russia, Europe, Hong Kong and
on an occasion or two used it in the US, I receive interest on the hard
currency account, don't recall the % right now, ask Carolina.

2008/1/24 Nikolaus Twickel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Dear list,
word has it that some Russian banks pay interest to ruble deposits at
roughly the rate of inflation. But ING, where I bank, would only give less
than six percent p.a., which seems a pretty bad deal given an inflation
rate of more than 11 percent. Can anybody recommend a bank and give some
details about procedures and trappings?
Thanks, Nikolaus
