You can only get your visa renewed in your home country or a country which
allows you to stay there for 90 days or longer. No country in Europe allows
this. The US embassy said London may be possible, but I've heard cases where
Americans were denied there, too and had to go back to the US anyway.
Good luck

Hi -
I'm new to the community and not sure if I should send this to this address, or
if I should post to a forum.
I'm living/working in Moscow and currently here on the 2nd entry of a 2-entry
business visa. My papers will be in order soon to leave and re-enter on my
work visa. I'm a US citizen and would like to avoid going all the way home
again to obtain my work visa.
Can I go to a different, closer country to do this? My boyfriend is Danish, so
it would be convenient to get my work visa in
Copenhagen (with a bonus of visiting family), however the Russian embassy in
Copenhagen told me this isn't possible unless I have residency in Denmark.
(Which I don't.)
Would love to draw on the knowledge/experience of others who have been in the
same boat...
Thanks!
katie
