actually this is not 100% right... when flying from germany to russia the border control checks your passport for a valid visa - either for where u go to or where u from... so showing your russian passport u MUST have a german visa /showing your german passport u MUST have a russian one. They double or even tripple check because the're held responsible if u arrive with no valid visa and sent back...

Passport control does not care if you have a visa or not for your destination. They are only concerned that you have a right to leave Russia. When you arrive in the US, they only care that you have a right to enter so all that is necessary is a US Passport, green card or US visa. You dont need to show a Russian passport.
