Envy you… but I shall wait a bit. Looks like this autumn will bring in
dual-core bastards and WM7. Sorry, I don’t trust Android. But, as you are
now in the HTC community, have a look at the xda-developers.com, might be
they can help you come back to WM6.5.
Anyway, very good choice, 3.7†AMOLED screen…. Envy you!

Hi all,
Just wanted to say thanks to all the people who replied to the list and
privately to suggest/recommend a phone.
After quite a bit of research, it seems that the HTC Desire is one of the
best ones on the market at the moment. It's taking a while to get used to
but it's an amazing phone.
Thanks again everyone.
Regards,
Nick

Dear Nick,
Moving to a smartphone (or touch screen phone) really changes your habits
and business practices. I started five years ago with an HTC “Blue
Angel†(made under various brand names) and I virtually stopped to bother
looking into my notebook every hour. E-mails, web, contacts, text messages –
all these become very easy, especially when you travel. A camera also
helps a lot to keep moments of life (and sometimes helps keep evidence which
might be necessary...)
If I were you, I’d rather think of another SonyEric. The critical issue
is how transparently you can transfer your contact database from the old
phone to the new, and if you chose a Symbian smartphone or touchphone this
should be easy. Plus, the cost of the new Symbian communicator should be
much much less than an iPhone or WM or RIM mobile.
I also suggest you look for a QWERTY slider, this makes things easier.
Screen size does not matter much, but having it 3.2 or bigger would be useful
for browsing. I would consider a Vivaz PRO as a No 1 of choice then...
Sincerely,
Sergey Orlov

Subject: Expat List Can anyone recommend a good phone?
Hi all,
I'm not really interested in going for an iphone (as everyone seems to
have them!) but will soon need to buy a new phone as my old Sony Ericsson
K790i is starting to fade away after 2 wonderful years together.
I use the phone mainly to sms and call people so I'm not too sure whether
I would like a touch screen, but am open to ideas/suggestions from people
who have converted from "traditional" phones to touch screen.
Thanks in advance for any ideas, suggestions or recommendations.
Regards,
Nick
