I was also surprised by the flat joke, as Maxim's humor is usually
excellent. But before you jot a scathing letter to the editor, think whom
you'll be joining: the Russian Orthodox cranks who are incensed with Maxim's
satire of church hypocrisy, the Nashists who are always portrayed
as schmucks, and Nikita Mikhalkov, who's featured in puzzles like the one
where his tongue needs to find the shortest way to Vladimir Putin's
rump. Are you sure you want to find yourself in such company?

Anyway, a quick scan of the masthead (that's page 16 in the latest issue)
suggests the staff is far from being packed with anti-Semites.
