[expert] Updating errors

When I try to update packages using Mandrake update, 
it works great., maybe once out of 20 tries.
Usually I get a message "Error... An error occured while fetching the
file glibc-2.1..." etc.

This error message is somewhat less than helpful. I get it no matter
what  mirror I choose.

Any one know what to do?
