Allow me to make this suggestion, then.

Include such tweaks and comments as part of the "value added" by Mandrake, but leave 
them commented out and provide a tweaks document that describes them, gives references 
for their use and tells which script contains them. Then we can do some informed 
tweaking and Mandrake won't be broken for many people.

BTW, the tweak did work for me as configured, and I even tweaked it some more after 
reading man hdparm and doing some intelligent experimenting. Thanks, Mandrake, for 
bringing it to my attention.
