Well you wouldn't see lots if it is a small file.
You might use lpc first - disable printing - then do a lpr blah.txt - and
then have a look at lpq.

The 'disable printing' holds the files in queue until you enable printing
again.

An easy trick BTW, I used to create ASCII files.
