So many more questions...

Hi, I just got on this thread because I get tons of collisions using 2 Realtek NICs, a
Linksys 5 port hub and factory-sealed cables
less than 10' (3.1m) in length. NICs and Hubs are autosensing 10/100. My throughput
is no more than 0.6Mbps. What could be wrong
here? Is it the brand name? Is it the limitations of the type of equipment? Are
there some inherent slowdowns with autosensing
devices?

And finally, if a switch is so much better than a hub for reduced collision and they
are roughly the same price, why should anyone
buy a hub?

Seve
