I use Mandrake in my laptop (TI 600) and it go well. I think you can have problem with partition, usualy Mandrake create 2 paretition, one for boot (mount in /boot) and other for the file system (/) I need to create the firsdt 10M partition first (hda1 for /boot with 10M) after that I instaled the Windows partition ( hda2 with 1G5), and after that I instaler swap parttition (40M the same that Ihave of memory) and in the last (hda4 1G5) for Linux I chose put swap before Linux in orther to have it yust after windows so if I need more swap I can cut down windows partition (with fips) and increase swap partition recreating it.
