I have been testing netsaint for the last little while. It may be
the tool
you are looking for. It can monitor most of the machines on your network
as well
as printers and webservers. It can also check to see if your oracle
databases
are running. If you add in the reporting modules you can get your uptime
on any
of your machines/database/webservers. It does take a bit of
configuration. Also
you can write your own perl scripts to monitor more specific
applications.You
can get a mandrake specific RPM from www.rpmfind.net or from the
netsaint site
www.netsaint.org
