I recently installed Mandrake 7.1 on an aged Dell 100. If mainly runs X,
and is on a small network, connecting to the internet through
a Linux router.
If the machine has been up a few days its often impossible to get back to
the console. You can launch an xterm but can't type commands. You
can still launch some programs from the menu's.

However I can ssh in from a local Red Hat box and run commands, like
rebooting the Mandrake box when this
happens.

Does anyone have any idea's or what I should look for? I hate having
to reboot my linux machines!

Best Wishes
