[expert] AGP vs PCI video cards

I currently have a Diamond Speedstar A-55 AGP video card that does NOT
perform under Linux. I can trade it for a Jaton/Trident Blaze chip. I've
seen Jaton supported on earlier distro's so I think it will
work--especially if I choose the PCI model. 

I have a choice between a PCI or the AGP Jaton Blaze/8mb onboard. Should
the number of colors I can view be the same on both cards?  

Does anyone on this list use this card?
