I don't know if there is any one--single--resource that you can refer to that will take you through the process, step-by-step, to do what you want to do in completion. I would point you to two resources as a beginning: Shah, Steve. Linux Administration: A beginner's Guide. Osbourne/McGwraw-Hill: Berkeley, CA. 2000. Anonymous. Maximum Linux Security. Sams Publishing: Indianapolis, Indiana. 2000. By now, the second may have a more recent successor, or a competitive publisher's offering of equal or better value--check the shelves. Yet, I believe, in reality you will need to refer to the individual HOW-TO's or at least find books on the specific applications you wish to use for your purposes. The configuration process of the many services you wish/need to use is far too extensive for any single publication--at least to vast for one book to be well written and understandable (especially for the inexperienced). --Greg ----- Original Message ----- From: "rharvey" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Is there start to finish documentation how to setup a Linux mandrake box to > be secure and still provide a web server, ftp server, mail server. > I have a firewall but due to its limitations I need to put my Linux mandrake > outside the firewall. > I don't want it to be hacked and still provide these services. > the how to's can be tedious reading and you don't know if the how to for a > different Linux brand works with mandrake. > any good books maybe? > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- > Keep in touch with http://mandrakeforum.com: > Subscribe the "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" mailing list. > ______________________________________________________________________________ Vous avez un site perso ? 2 millions de francs à gagner sur i(france) !
