This is common with Netscape. It tries to associate *.rpm files with RealPlayer, if you have that installed. If not, then Netscape tries to handle the file itself by default. In Netscape, go to Edit | Preferences, then select Navigator and the Applications sub-menu. Look in the Description column for Real Player Media, or Real Player Movie. If you find it, click Edit and verify that the listing is attached to *.rpm files. If yes, then edit the entry to default to Save to Disk, rather than Handled By Plugin. If you do NOT find a matching entry for Real Player, then you can create one. Click New, then give a description like "RPM Package". For MIME Type, use "application/RPM". For Suffixes, enter "rpm". Click the Save To Disk option, then click OK and OK again. From now on, Netscape will save-to-disk any file with a .rpm extension.
