[expert] W3mail - please help me out!

Hello
   I wonder whether someone has managed to install w3mail on a linux 
box. I read the instuctions a thousand times but to no avail. I guess I 
am too dumb on html stuff that installing w3mail is out of question.  
Therefore I wonder whether someone could help me out.
   My first questions are:
a) How to call w3mail?   The main html of server is something else (not 
w3mail stuff).
b) How do you know it is installed as it should be? 
c) Where to find a good installation guide?  I mean for a newbie.
