This is what I did and it works great for me.
Try at your own risk!

from mandrake update
Select cups****.rpm glibc***..rpm (3 total)
Force them when asked.
Get the cups-common rpm
rpm -ivh --force cup-common-1.1.6-3.1mdk.i586.rpm
and pray to the linux god that it works.
