The card is agp, an the crash is in X, not the linux framebuffer. It 
displayes the nvidia splash., then you get approx 10 seconds of kde usage and 
it just locks, although you can move the mouse the keyboard is unusable. But 
this may now be fixed thanks to asheesh's advice. Is this a common problem 
with the nvidia drivers? (im using stock mandrake 8 with no updates installed 
if that helps too)
