You guys are GREAT! - Problem Solved.....

    Well, the problem was that /mnt/tripod never got mounted and I did fill up
/mnt/tripod with the recursive copy until it ran out of space. What was
causing me problems was that I though I had created one large tmp file
somewhere. All of my searches using find /whereever -size +1000k turned up
nothing because there wasn't one big file, but a lot of little files. Needless
to say I feel completely lame at this point.............
