Got mine from this site. ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/packages/desktops/kde/stable/3.0/Mandrake/8.2/RPMS/i586/
used kpackage to install them, and they installed without a hitch. Had to go into the kde2 config tool to add kde3 to the list of bootable wm's for the login page. but otherwise it was as smooth as could be. It comes up it runs...... can't ask for more than that. Oh and kde2 is still on the box.
