Curios on this one. Is it possible that LM-sensors which shouldn't be run with a thinkpad regardless of distribution, being confused with LM as in Linux-Mandrake. Although I don't know what the LM in LM_sensors stands for this is for sure something you don't want to run on an IBM thinkpad. Otherwise I know of no reason why Mandrake couldn't be installed on a thinkpad. (Unless you have the windowsCE version..... then it will be a bit trickier.)
