As to the numerous advices to use proftp instead of wuftp I changed this and installed and activated proftpd on boxa. Now I get this: ncftp> open boxa Remote host has closed the connection. Sleeping 20 seconds.... That tells me that a demon is listening at boxa but refuses to let me in. I also tried to log in with a valid user-id and passw like: ncftp -u xxxxxx -p xxxxx boxa but get the same reply. My ftpaccess file is wide open for all, no entries are in ftphosts or other files. wobo -- Registered Linux User 228909 Powered By Mandrake Linux 8.1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft, Windows, Bugs, Lacking Features, IRQ Conflicts, System Crashes, Non-Functional Multitasking and The Blue Screen of Death ("BSOD") are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Washington, USA.
