And, in my experience with voodoo 3 boards. To be honest, every 3d game that works in linux (with wineX or otherwise) gives me much better performance than in windows. I always found i could run deus ex at 800x600 but in windows it was terrible, only could run at 640x480. So, ive not had a machine with windows on it now for about 2 years, and for about 2 years before that i only used it for games.
