Yes...that was my original suggestion, and that's what I've been planning to do; however I was going to use Codeweavers wine to get it done. If I'm successful I'll post an email recipe on how to do that. Starband is what I've been looking at; they seem to have the best track record with regard to dependable uplinks without washout (during storms) and I don't think they give a rat about what their software is running on as long as you're running it.
