I own a notebook Compaq 1650 P-II 266MHz 96MB of RAM with a cardbus Xircom CE-II 100Mb/s network card, 4.1GB internal IDE disk and 40GB external SCSI disk connected via CARDBUS Adaptec APA-1480A. I have tried to install Linux Mandrake 8.1 but it reports the following error message: insmod'ing module aic7xxx failed at /usr/bin/perl-install/modules.pm line 603 I do hear two beeps before the error message. But I notice that external disk is not delected. Is it an error in the aic7xxx driver ? Please, does anyone know how to resolve the problem ? Thanks Luiz Emediato
