Mandrake can install shorewall for you, but I don't like it, since it appears to be trying to make an inherently simple procedural task into a table driven mess, IMHO. It doesn't fit, but YMMV. My suggestion would be to install and try MonMotha's iptables firewall. Download the bash script: rc.firewall-2.3.8-pre7 from http://monmotha.mplug.org/firewall/index.php then edit the configuration section as explained and as you need, set ENABLE to "Y" and you are done editing. To install: 1. ./rc.firewall-2.3.8-pre7 2. iptables-save > /etc/sysconfig/iptables/iptables from where it will be automatically loaded at boot time. You can do 1 above any time since the script starts with iptables flush commands. -- Ron. [Melbourne, Australia] IMPORTANT! troels... for Mandrake GNU/Linux 9.0 now available.
