Hi, My hunch is that Andre and Alice have different hardware versions of the Live! card. Could you guys post a 'lspci -vvn' just to make sure? Andre, have you tried to contact Creative (or Dell) about this?
Back in 1999 (or so) I had problems with an internal ISDN card. It turned out that the manufacturer had two different cards shipping at the same time under the same brand and model name.
