Now it seems to work !
Is there anything special I need to know in order to administer an XFS partition (some special commands, some special maintenance etc) or, for the sake of using it, it is just like an ext2 one ?

(this is under mdk 8.2).
If you don't have it installed that explains why you couldn't create an xfs partition.
