Since 9.1b is as yet incomplete (only one disk) I'd say you'll have more
problems than triumphs...... You might consider a cooker upgrade...
(would give you 9.1b + more)   As for home, if its a seperate partition
no sweat keeping it.  I've had the same /home since 8.0 on this box. 
One box has had it since 7.1 so I've a fair amount of history in this
area.  Just pay attention on the page during install that asks what
partitions to format.  USUALLY (so far for me) it's always understood
not to partition /home/ but remember.. this on is a beta.
