OpensMosix is simply fantastic. Kind of thing that could came in MDK distribution, perhaps in future.
Imagine your computer with multiprocessors, doing tar/backup, video encoding, playing game etc. all the same time. Or many computational simulations (as you do here at University) distributed automagically over the private net. The grid concept is a little bit further.
