Yes, you're right. This was a nice workaround for this problem. If you read the page you see that all MandrakeSoft projects, all the tools which are an important part of the distribution, are listed as single projects and thus able to receive donations. If enough donations come in for a certain project MandrakeSoft saves the money *they* pay to support the developper(s) of said project. "The more you donate, the more *we* will be able to expand the DrakX team to improve the installation program of Mandrake Linux. Similarly, if you wish to help the Kernel project, your donation would allow *us* to *recruit* more dedicated Kernel hackers." See what I mean? So, in reality the donations help MandrakeSoft. BTW: MandrakeClub subscriptions are another nice workaround. To most of the subscribers it's a way to help Mandrake and not really a product which they wanted to purchase. Latest figures show that MandrakeClub generates more than 30% of MandrakeSoft's revenue of the last half year. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about it, moreso as part of my income depends on that, too. :) wobo
