Jay - I have to agree with Jeremy. I weigh 190-195 "fully dressed". With a
full fuel tank my Invader weighed in at 857lbs. (could almost go 493 but Q
says the performance difference isn't enough and to lay off the
cheesburgers.. I long ago stopped the fries)If I can get down to 180 soaking
wet I might be able to shave 10lbs fully dressed and if I run just 4 gal I
can knock out another 21lbs. I don't know how much the starter weighs but I
am not going to pull start nor have my lady freind pull start. That leaves
me at 826lbs close enough for the 494.

Jay it's easy
I weigh a good 225 "dressed to race". There is always some gas left in the
car when I come in. I'm not smart enough to measure it to finish empty.
Our bodywork has been "massaged" and repaired for some additional weight.
Also, we have some additional gussets and bars placed in the car. Add a
starter as well. Plus, a bunch of rivet ends in the frame bars. I don't
know why, but it all seems to add up to 840lbs at the end.
Got the new car done yet? I put a thermostat in the Invader and lo and
behold.......went the same speed as before. I'm going to guess that Brian
will be just as fast with the motor turned around.

As I was beside him all week, I know Brent and QRE had 494's. I had a 494
and tipped the scales at 840 because I am tall and fat. My best time was
a
1:31:00. I know Steve Jondal had a 493. I think he was the only other
one
in the top 6 beside Clint who had one. I have driven with both, with the
Dick's, QRE, and Dolphin and the only difference I could tell was the
special feeling I had when Jim Elder told me I had to add ballast to make
weight. I had a beer and steak that night.
Missed everyone at Mid Ohio last week.
