Dear Jeff, Thanks for taking the time to reply to me post. By the end of winter I will have purchased a car. Right now I am trying to learn enough to make a good decision. The winning cars at this year's Solo National Championship were '89 Red Devil, '02 Maverick, '95 KBS Mk7, '92 Red Devil and an '88 Red Devil F440. A brand new car is not needed to be competitive in solo. Bill Crawford 630-718-1600

The response sent by Jim Libecco covers the bases pretty well. My best advice I can offer is to find out who is in your area with a F500 for solo, then go visit. Look, listen, get educated. Since there is no "owners manual" the learning curve can be steep, especially if you don't have someone to show you the way. Just let us know where you are located and I'll bet there will be volunteers willing to show you the ropes. Getting the car set up for Solo isn't that tough and you'll get plenty of guidance from this list. Assuming you'll be looking for a used car, at this point, getting help picking a good car and identifying the important things to look for, will be more important than info about setup, clutches, etc.. -Jeff Blumenthal Bill Crawford wrote: >My son and I are currently racing Solo in a 2002 Toyota MR2, but I am >thinking about buying a used F500 for F Mod.
