I don't have a windows machine, so i cannot check by myself. A fresh
build from today is working for me in Linux. Is factor taking more than
60 secs in loading in windows? If so, go to fuel-listener.el, line 163,
and change the 60000 to, say 120000: if that works, i'll change that. 

If that's not the problem, please look for buffers named '*fuel
messages*' and ' *fuel connection retort' (note the leading white space)
and see if there's some message in them after the failure.

A third thing to try is to start factor, do '"fuel" run' and then M-x
connect-to-factor. Does that work?
